Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what happens to data when you read PawProof. The short version: we run privacy-first analytics that cannot identify you, we set no tracking cookies of our own, and we never sell your information. PawProof is the controller of the little data described here. Questions go to hello@pawproof.org.

The short version

We measure traffic with a cookie-free analytics tool that records no personal data. We only hold an email if you write to us. Our ad partner may set cookies when ads load, which you can switch off. You can ask us what we hold and to delete it, any time.

How we measure traffic

Page views are counted with Plausible Analytics, a tool chosen specifically because it sets no cookies, builds no profile of you, and stores no personal data. What it records is aggregate and anonymous: how many people viewed a page, roughly where in the world they were, the type of device, and which site sent them. None of that points back to a named person, including you.

When you email us

If you contact us, your message and email address sit in our inbox for as long as it takes to answer you and handle any sensible follow-up, then no longer. We do not add you to a list, and we do not pass your message to anyone outside PawProof.

Ads and the cookies they bring

PawProof is funded by display ads served through Google Ad Manager and programmatic partners. We place no tracking cookies ourselves, but those ad partners may set their own when an ad renders, to measure it and choose what to show. You can clear or block cookies in your browser whenever you like, and you can turn off personalized ads through YourAdChoices in the US or Your Online Choices in the EU.

The legal basis, for EU and UK readers

Under the GDPR, two bases apply. Our cookie-free, no-personal-data analytics rests on legitimate interest. Anything an advertising partner sets that needs consent rests on consent, which you give or withdraw through your browser controls and the opt-out tools above.

What you can ask us to do

Wherever you live, and specifically under the EU and UK GDPR and California's CCPA, you can ask to see any correspondence we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or (under the CCPA) opt out of any sale or sharing. To be clear, we do not sell personal information. Email hello@pawproof.org and we will act within the window your local law sets.

Children

PawProof is written for adult dog and cat owners and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us at hello@pawproof.org and it goes.

If this policy changes

We will revise this page if our tools or the rules around them change, and the "Last updated" date at the top will move with it. Nothing here removes a right you hold under your own country's law.
